Review by hotel critic
My stay at Gasthof Keller in Merdingen was a charming escape into the heart of the German countryside. The traditional decor of the rooms, furnished with authentic simplicity, provided a cozy retreat after attending a local wedding. The genuine German hospitality at the restaurant, serving a delightful mix of international and regional specialties, made dining a true pleasure.Exploring the surrounding area was a treat, with hiking and cycling options aplenty. From the nearby Southern Black Forest Nature Park to the allure of Kaiserstuhl, the natural beauty of the region beckoned. And for those interested in activities beyond the hotel, nearby attractions like Badischer Winzerkeller and Geldermann Privatsektkellerei offered enriching excursions. The convenience of free WiFi throughout the property and the availability of a restaurant on-site added to the overall comfort of the stay. The serene setting, coupled with the warm service provided by the family-run establishment, truly made Gasthof Keller a memorable base for my travels in the Breisgau region. A gem worth discovering for both solitary explorers and companions alike.
